PRESIDENT RODRIGO DUTERTE

“I do not covet the position. I do not want to be president. I do not want to kill people so do not elect me as president.” - Duterte

Based from my readings, once a drug addict has been into it for some time now, it will be very, very difficult for him/her to get back to the normal state. It will take a lot of time, effort and money to rehabilitate the patient. And in some cases, relapse is common, because the environment of the patient is one of the 'cues' for relapse - it acts as a stimulus that is very hard to resist. The war on drugs is not just about getting those offenders (be it the addict or the pushers), its also about focusing on letting these folks get back on their feet and giving them the proper environment and tools in order for them to live normal lives once again. After Duterte got elected, he got to work as soon as his term started! Just wow! After a week? A month? You can tell this is a man who tries to keep to his word. He, as our President, just want to keep our country improve by reducing drug pushers, buyers, and users. For years, there has been a very questionable problem on how drugs were entering the Bilibid prison. Previous admins have promise to tackle it. No progress. Duterte became president. Everything is being investigated and a former Chief Justice and current senator is one of the main suspects. Duterte is a man who admits failures. He has admitted that the drug problem is worse than he imagined and it would take longer than the estimated 6 months he planned.
